Your car doors are locked, the car seat is installed properly, you and your children are seat belted, you’re driving with your hands at the recommended 10 and 2 positions on the steering wheel, and your mirrors are adjusted.  You smile at the baby in the back and get rolling. A short while into your 2 drive, a rogue piece of metal nicks your windshield. You check your mirrors for nearby cars and pull over to the right and stop at a safe spot on the highway. You’ve done everything right.

The same attention and care and you take in driving, TeleGlass takes in its customers and services. Keep TeleGlass in your phone contacts along with the rest of your emergency numbers.  Call us from the nearest rest or donut shop, wherever you are, and we’ll send one of our skilled technicians to restore the integrity of your auto glass.  The nick in your auto glass will be injected with a resin-based bonding agent to stop the windshield from further cracking and damage. You will be back on the road in no time!

TeleGlass follows all motor vehicle safety regulations and takes extra precautions to ensure its glass is installed using the most fail-safe techniques. Here are a details according to this year’s Motor Vehicle Safety Act: car manufacturers must:

  1. Mitigate unintended acceleration in passenger motor vehicles (excluding motorcycles, trailers, or low speed vehicles) through a brake override system
  2. Require that at least one redundant mechanism be built into accelerator control systems, including electronic throttle control systems, to maintain vehicle control in the event of accelerator control system failures
  3. Prevent potential obstruction of pedal movement by establishing minimum clearances for passenger motor vehicle foot pedals
  4. Require electronic systems in passenger motor vehicles to meet minimum performance standards
  5. Establish standards for the operation of passenger motor vehicles equipped with push-button ignition systems, particularly in emergency situations when the vehicle is in motion
  6. Improve the recognition of the gear selector positions for drivers, including the conspicuity of the neutral position.

Imagine what it was like back at the turn of the 20th century when cars didn’t have glass, but were exposed to the elements with you in them.  While great advances in auto glass technology have been recorded and TeleGlass uses the best glass for your delivery and replacement, we recognize that change is sometimes necessary, especially when considering safety.  We are always looking for the most innovative glass manufacturers to supply our glass, so that if something dents, cracks, or smashes your windshield or auto glass, we can replace it with something better, stronger, and safer.  Contact TeleGlass for any and all of your automobile glass repair needs today.

Whether you have a garage, a driveway, or park your car on the street, objects sometimes “fall out of the sky.”  If your garage light-fixture falls onto and cracks your laminated glass windshield, your roommate’s truck door slams into your compact car’s door window, or a maniac throws a beer bottle at your back tempered glass window while speeding down your neighborhood road, you can call TeleGlass for trusted, fast service.

TeleGlass has the auto glass you need and is prepared at all times to help you when you need quick and professional service, and fine quality glass.  No matter how the cookie crumbles (or glass), our auto glass is built to protect the driver and passengers if it should break.  Laminated glass will crack under extreme pressure so when you’re driving down highway out West, falling rocks threatening each bend, you’re as safe as possible behind it.  It will not shatter except under extreme impact.  Tempered glass is not as strong as windshield laminated glass because the position of the side and back windows poses a lesser risk.  It is, however, designed to break into small cube-like chunks that aren’t jagged or very sharp.

No matter what objects are mysteriously flying at your car, be prepared with high quality auto glass from TeleGlass, and ask for one of our trained service persons takes care of all your questions and to replace your auto glass.

Volvo has advanced its auto-break function, available in certain 2009-10 models to include sensors that will trigger an automatic stop for pedestrians.  Referred to as the “City Safe” system, laser technology stops the car at speeds of up to 22 MPH.  Like any technology, however, there is room for error; sometimes the car does not sense the obstacle, human or inanimate, plowing into it.  While the technology is useful, it also may encourage lackadaisical driving (or even texting-while-driving), because the driver might think paying attention isn’t as important, especially in slow, stop and go “city traffic.”

When the technology fails, any number of obstacles can break the car’s windshield.  Bicyclists, pedestrians and stationary objects will not always illicit an auto-break, and might damage auto glass.  Whatever the cause, auto glass should be repaired as soon as possible.  TeleGlass will fix your old or damaged auto glass anytime, anywhere.

Today we’d like to share a pretty cool idea the folks over at Seventeen Magazine have drummed up. They’re holding a contest in which they ask their readers to create videos explaining the dangers of distracted driving.

It only takes two seconds to turn your cell phone off, thereby avoiding the chance of you being distracted behind the wheel… or two seconds of reading a text message to get in an accident.

Check out the video:

Today’s “SS” post isn’t silly so much as it is just pretty cool. We may have to come up with a new name for these Saturday posts, eh?

The Greater Boston Area has been hit by 2 “100 year floods” in the last month.  The latest storm, Saturday, July 10, dumped almost 4 inches of rain in under 90 minutes. In Somerville (near Boston) a driver was trapped in a tunnel just around the corner from her house, this much rain results in the kind of apocalyptic-looking flood that swallows cars, cows, and anything else in its way.  We’re just not used to seeing this type of flash flooding this close to Boston.

Driving a car through a “road-river” can be extremely damaging to your car.  It’s also very dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs.  If you cannot find a safe place to park your car, be mindful of rushing rocks, tree limbs, and other hazardous objects that can crack your auto glass, and potentially impair your visibility.

Existing damage, and the damage your auto glass could sustain from a flash-flood, should be fixed immediately, as weather stops for no one.

If we have another flood this summer, we can hope the city is well equipped to deal with it, but if you’re on the road, heading over a hill into a water pit that was minutes earlier an intersection, street or driveway, best be prepared with a well-tuned car and safe, strong auto glass.  If your auto glass damaged and you need an auto glass replacement is the consequence of stormy weather, please contact TeleGlass today.
